![]() ![]() With some templates, and objects, Visio drawings can look rather decent. The next most popular I see, probably more used in general, but by small and medium shops is Visio. They look great, but sometimes the CAD guys can get a little too crazy with the "flyoffs", and multi-page drawings that tracing a signal path turns into a game of "where's waldo" trying to find where the flyoff tag leaving one page is on the next page. These are usually the same shops that have full size plotters and end up a "book worth" of full set of D prints onsite for the install. Some shops use plug-ins to auto-generate cable numbers and runs too, but not all. ![]() AutoCad is king, but slow, and most shops that use AutoCad have full time CAD guys on staff because it's not intuitive to fix things and such for unskilled people. I don't do drawings, but see them from many integrators for all my projects.here are the major categories that I see.
